Fall Festival
Experience the fun of fall with us each year at the LRPPG Fall Festival! Every October, we bring together the community for a day packed with good food, live entertainment, family-friendly fun, and local connections. Everything is complimentary (a.k.a. FREE!), so you can simply show up, enjoy, and make the most of the day with friends and family! Check out these highlights from 2024:
Fresh and Local Food
We partnered up with Sabor de 8 Regiones to provide free tacos to festival-goers for the duration of the event. We also provided free pizza and 300 cookies from local bakery Riverside Cookie Shoppe. Fresh fruits and vegetables from Huerta de Valle and locally sourced oranges from Inland Empire farmers made for refreshing, healthy snack options throughout the event.
Spectacular Entertainment
The festival showcased cultural performances by KALLI TECPATL and Baile Folklorico Amor Cultura Y Tradición. KALLI TECPATL brought indigenous storytelling to life with dance and music, encouraging children to join in the experience. Baile Folklorico, a Fontana-based dance group, wowed the audience with traditional performances that celebrated cultural heritage and community spirit.
Fun for Kids
Kids enjoyed a variety of activities, from a pumpkin patch with 300 free pumpkins to a painting station where they could decorate their pumpkin masterpieces. A keychain-making station added to the hands-on fun, while a giant pumpkin-shaped jumper and trick-or-treat booths kept the excitement high. One of the day’s highlights was a scavenger hunt, where participants followed clues for a chance to win thrilling prizes, including tickets to Knott’s Scary Farm and Castle Dark!
Community Partner Booths
Our community partners, including Huerta Del Valle, San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District, and others, contributed booths with resources, activities, and giveaways that reflected their dedication to conservation and community support. Partners like Burrtec, Rivers and Lands Conservancy, Bureau of Land Management, and the California Native Plant Society made this event a true community collaboration.
Celebrating Art and Nature
Students from TK-6th grade in the Jurupa Valley School District submitted posters under the theme “Keep it Healthy, Keep it Wild!” The winning posters earned gift card prizes—$150 for first, $100 for second, and $50 for third—and were displayed on an eye-catching art installation for the community to enjoy.
Upcoming Events at LRPPG
Missed the festival? No problem! LRPPG hosts events year-round. Join us in January for our first California Native Plant Sale, where you’ll find unique plants grown onsite. In February, we’ll offer a workshop on fruit tree care led by Master Gardeners of Riverside, with a limited number of low-chill fruit trees available for attendees.
